North Captiva Island also known as Upper Captiva is a barrier island located 10 miles from the Fort Myers, Cape Coral area of south west Florida. The Island is 3.7 miles long and .5 miles across and is home to 75 full time households. Sixty percent of North Captiva is a national bird sanctuary. Water Taxi, boat or light aircraft are the only means to reach North Captiva, allowing the island to retain a more pristine environment.
